IT Business Systems Manager
Summary

The IT Business Systems Manager has responsibility for the day-to-day interactions with business partners and IT systems staff to ensure timely and accurate completion of IT Systems development projects. The Business Systems Manager is integral to collaborate with UCFS business units successfully manage and business initiatives. The PM will be responsible to oversee the production of deliverables in accordance to deadlines such as process mapping, analyses, requirements elicitation, design documentation, security, testing, tracking, estimations and more for the IT Team. This individual will work across all areas of the business to ensure that the technical solutions meet business requirements of IT customers.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Ensure business systems adhere to applicable laws and regulations, contractual obligations, and established security/privacy protocols.
  • Identify and engage in IT solutions and efficiencies; do what it takes to ensure business system operation and integrity. Escalate issues early and appropriately.
  • Assist with development and evolution of process and team structures that supports the needs of the Company.
  • Participate in the identification of opportunities for the appropriate and cost-effective investment of financial resources in IT systems, software and resources, including staffing, sourcing, purchasing, and in-house development.
  • Participate in the identification of IT spend and initiatives within area of responsibility. Reviews respective project definitions showing project objectives, information system requirements, and analytical and programming personnel requirements of proposed systems.
  • Define and communicate plans, policies, and standards for the organization for acquiring, implementing, and operating IT systems.
  • Report progress on development projects, resource utilization, and production performance to Leadership Team.
  • Approve, prioritize, and control projects and the project portfolio as they relate to the selection, acquisition, development, and installation of major information systems.
  • Manage the implementation, and the IT resources assigned to the implementation, of chosen projects through completion.
  • Manage continued implementation and further development and execution of an enterprise-wide disaster recovery and continuity plan.
  • Review requests for additional information systems services and identifies impact on current planned resources. Make recommendations based on organizational priorities and needs.
  • Recruit, develop, retain, and organize IT Business Analysis staff in accordance with good leadership practices, corporate budgetary objectives and personnel policies. Effectively build, maintain and lead cohesive and highly productive IT team.
  • Performs and assumes other duties and responsibilities as may be required.
  • Establish, produce and maintain processes, templates and deliverables.
  • Establish estimations for tasks and track progress to plan.
  • Work closely with business clients to drive out business requirements.
  • Analyzes and defines “To Be” and “As Is” business processes and information that support them.
  • Translates business requirements to system functional requirements with developers.
  • Development of testing approaches and their execution through User Acceptance.

Qualifications
  • BA/BA experience in computer science, business administration or related field. Master’s degree in one of these fields preferred.
  • 10+ years’ experience managing and/or directing in related business or IT.
  • Experience with systems design and development from business requirements analysis through to day-to-day management.
  • Knowledge of managing system life cycle development in a propriety environment, as well as AS/400 and Windows architectures.

Working Conditions

This position operates in a professional office environment at UCFS offices in Westlake, Ohio.

This is a full-time position; minimum of 40+ hours.
