Underwriting and Client Specialist Team Member
Description

Responsibilities
  • Provide the highest level of customer service by creating a “wow” experience while maintaining company standards and utilizing proper risk guidelines in the evaluation of consumer retail installment contracts.
  • Reviews credit decisions from previous day’s submissions (rejects, accepted and overrides) to ensure accuracy.
  • Recommends and implements action plan to communicate and adjustment in our buying decision, and then ensures delivery of the message in a polite and positive manner as part of a proactive outreach and relationship building program.
  • Promptly and effectively resolves assigned customers’ problems and concerns (from simple to complex) within UCFS guidelines so as to maintain current business and attract new business.
  • Promptly and accurately resolves contract decision appeals for assigned customers by selling the attributes of the contract while maintaining the credibility of the original reviewer. Has the capacity and willingness to resolve challenges with complexity and customer care.
  • Effectively delivers results and assumes responsibility for achieving outcomes, works effectively with little direction,. Dependable and responsible. Consistently works on the right tasks, understands their top priorities, finishes what they start, assumes personal responsibility for achieving outcomes and supports the team in leader’s absence to deliver high quality service to our customers.
  • Promote UCFS business in accordance with the companies’ marketing programs.
  • Coordinate and initiate UCFS day-to-day communications with assigned customers.
  • Make prompt and accurate consumer credit decisions on new retail installment sales contracts in conformity with UCFS guidelines to maximize volume and minimize risk.
  • Lear, understand and utilize risk management reports and assess ongoing distributor trends to make accurate buying decisions based on file performance and in accordance with UCFS guidelines.
  • Promptly review and prepare upgrade approval recommendations, compile all required documentation and ensure all applicable customer interviews and verifications are satisfactorily completed and submit packet to appropriate manager for approval.
  • Provide superior customer service with an enthusiastic attitude to all customers.
  • Resolve and collect on first payment defaults in assigned region in a prompt, effective and accurate manner.
  • Resolve and collect on problem resolution queue accounts in assigned region in a prompt, effective and accurate manner.
Skills
  • Ability to understand, analyze, and assess risk factors on risk management reports.
  • Ability to multi-task in a busy, fast-paced, sometimes stressful and noisy environment with frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively on the phone and in person for up to 8 hours per day.
  • Ability to work effectively with UCFS’ employees and customers.
  • Ability to work in accordance with customers’ time constraints.
  • Ability to read, write, and perform mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to attend to detail.
  • Ability to understand and follow UCFS policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Proficiency with a computer, standard office equipment and computer programs, including but not limited to Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word) and AS/400 up to 8 hours per day.
Qualifications
  • Loan origination, underwriting, credit processing, customer service, collections, sales or other related experience is required.
  • A strong desire to learn, improve, grow, and adapt to change.
